Poland: Recent Changes to the Polish Regulatory Framework for Electricity and Gas, including New Regulations Relating to Carbon Dioxide Transportation.

Despite government plans to produce three completely new acts for electricity, gas and renewables, the work on the former two has ultimately come to a grind and legislative activity only continues in relation to the renewables bill. Instead of enacting a new electricity or gas act, the parliament has recently passed two major amendments to the current energy law (July 2013 and September 2013), with some of the new provisions having come into force as late as early 2014. This report describes the current changes to the regulatory framework for energy.
